Warehouse slotting tool for Peapod

"What we wanted was the best of both worlds. So, after a very thorough market review we decided that Districon's proposal to create a custom solution with AIMMS would be the best solution for us."

Daniël van Gool, Director of Network & Fulfillment Strategy at Peapod Digital Labs

We worked with Peapod (Digital Labs) to build a warehouse slotting tool, called Podslotter, to optimize product placements in its warerooms.

We are proud that Supply & Demand Chain Executive, the executive’s user manual for successful supply and demand chain transformation, has selected this project as a recipient of an SDCE 100 Award for 2019.

Results

  • 20% reduction in out-of-stock occurrences.
  • 6% increase in units picked from the wareroom vs. the store – this is huge. It’s a big productivity improvement for an e-commerce retailer.
  • 4.5% increase in units picked from the ideal height (vs. having to reach or crouch).
  • New wareroom slotting time reduced from 500 to 4 hours – a great step forward for Peapod’s expanding network.
