Applying mathematics and programming to solve logistics processes is something close to my heart. During my BSc in Econometrics & Operations Research, I have had the opportunity to follow several Operations Research courses that focused on minimization problems regarding, for example, transport costs or distance traveled by a logistic party. In my MSc in Econometrics, Operations Research and Actuarial Studies, I have further extended my knowledge regarding Operations Research. For example, by writing a paper to find the optimal capacities of hospitals for COVID-19 patients during the pandemic. Finally, by working for LCPS for a year, I have had the real-life opportunity to gain experience in optimizing a logistic process by transferring COVID-19 patients between hospital regions in the Netherlands in order to maximize the buffer capacity of hospitals during the COVID-19 pandemic.

I would describe myself as a pro-active, enthusiastic person that is energized by a diverse and changing working environment. As the logistics sector is constantly subject to change, problems that arise in this sector are constantly changing. This calls for a pragmatic, non-standardized way of solving such problems. I understand that finding solutions for those complex problems that arise in the logistics sector always requires teamwork and critical thinking, which (in combination with the diverse and changing working environment) is why I wanted to apply for a job as supply chain consultant at Districon.
